Inspired by the natural world while incorporating multiple styles and genres from expressionism to post-modern
30x40 Oil on canvas.
Inspired by the volcanic Monolith that is Shiprock, Former Glory explores the twofold meaning of a once powerful force of nature reduced to its stripped core. A million years later this pillar is still standing as a testament to the strength and resilience of the Native people who are also still standing despite all we have been through.

Walking the fine line of surreal and impressionism
Oil on canvas. 16x20.
Done in an impressionistic/impasto style. This half hidden cowboy was painted with minimal blending leaving behind heavy and very visible brush strokes.
Oil on canvas, 30x40.
There is a lot of different elements and meaning with this painting. The figure “a man” is looking towards a sunrise, the path before him is open yet not well traveled, directly behind him is a cowboy hat which represents both the past and the literal direction of the old wild west. He is taking a step towards the sun, moving forward/away from his current position. To the north is a distant mountain range in a rather desolate landscape. The meaning of either rising up and facing a new day is also paired with ignoring the surrounding and keeping your focus on the journey ahead.

A surreal and conceptual take on nature
Oil on canvas 24x18.
Inspired by New Mexico evening skies with a storm comes rolling in.
Oil on Canvas 30x40
In this painting I wanted to have a message about Life & Death. The violent crazy storm with lighting and thunder has ended and the clouds are drifting away making room for the sun to come back out making everything better, the buzzards are circling the carcass in the distance while in the foreground the landscape is starting to bloom.
